Buffalo Prep was founded in 1989 by education and community leaders to help talented underrepresented students prepare for, obtain entrance into, and excel at demanding college preparatory high schools. Buffalo Prep has grown exponentially over the years and now serves hundreds of students each year.
Many students begin Buffalo Prep’s rigorous program in fifth grade and commit their summers, evenings, and weekends to prepare for higher achievement. Buffalo Prep students attend many of Western New York’s best private, public, and charter high schools with the financial support necessary to focus on their academics.
With a focus on racially and culturally affirming practices, Buffalo Prep advocates for educational access and equity and provides programming to academically ambitious scholars of color. We strive to nurture our scholars’ brilliance while empowering them to engage civically as their authentic selves.
We envision a future where all students have the opportunity to pursue excellence and success in a community that nurtures their individual talents, goals, and selves.
An independent audit of Buffalo Prep is conducted each year. Audited financial statements are available upon request.
