Buffalo Prep to welcome over 150 scholars, celebrate new partnership with D’Youville University at first annual Prep Rally

BUFFALO, NY, June 26, 2022 –Buffalo Prep, an organization dedicated to educational and racial equity for underrepresented youth, hosted its first annual “Prep Rally” to welcome over 150 young scholars who will be participating in its academic enrichment programs this summer. The two-day student orientation took place June 27th and June 28th at D’Youville University in The Hub, a state-of-the-art education, training, and community health center embedded in Buffalo’s West Side.  View photos from the event here.

D’Youville is also the site for Buffalo Prep’s “Prep Scholars Academy” program on its campus this summer.  This five-week program is a neighborhood-based culturally relevant academic program designed to help scholars excel throughout middle school and prepare them for high school.  It gives preference to Hispanic/Latino scholars and offers bilingual instruction.

Last month, Buffalo Prep executive director Patti Stephen was also appointed to the D’Youville University board of directors.
